Dual gradient depth filter cartridge to remove solids of one micron size or larger from water. One micron rated cartridges are effective in removing the majority of Giardia and Cryptosporidium cysts from drinking water. The Polypropylene Spun Dual Gradient combination filter cartridge offers both pre-filtration and one micron final filtration in a single cartridge – frequently eliminating the need for a separate pre-filter cartridge and housing. Sized to fit 10″ and 20″* Jumbo housings these cartridges offer many times the dirt holding ability of Standard cartridges. Every cartridge consists of thousands of interlocked, thermally bonded polypropylene fibres. The bonding means that fibres are less likely to shift with changes in flow or pressure, releasing contaminants downstream. The filter construction removes larger particles in the outer layers where there is greater dirt holding capacity protecting the finer inner layers from premature blinding. These polyspun cartridges are made from 100% pure polypropylene and are designed for purity. They will not import taste, odour or colour to the liquid being filtered. They also provide superior chemical resistance and are not prone to bacterial attack.
